Previously ruled by the elves, the wilderness was once a lush kingdom were the immortal race thrived peacefully.
Due to the high number of the elves at that time every stretch of the ancient kingdom was protected somehow either by the magic of the grey elves, the druidic powers of the wood elves or the ferocity of the high elves.
Roughly 500 years ago however despite the supposed protection and safety of the beautiful land, legions of orcs amongst other unknown horrors sacked and took control of the elven kingdom using shock and awe tactics causing many of the elves to panic and flee to their island of Tellius for protection under their king whilst many other stranded elves were left behind only to be slaughtered by their unknown enemy.
In recent years
Not much is known about the wilderness now, however in recent years groups of elven and barbarian scholars who live in close proximity to the wilderness have uncovered information regarding what lies within the ruined wastes of a once great civilisation; something more powerful than just a collection of orcish tribes lurks within the wilderness, something with the power to make kingdoms shake.
And more worryingly, many parts of the old elven kingdom has been twisted and changed by the corruption; where rolling meadows once flowed peacefully in the south, that part of the wilderness is now dominated by a harsh desert and where lush forests teaming with life once prospered, burned out husks of plains where orcs and monsters roam are all that is left.
